About North Central

North Central strives to maintain a tradition of excellence and is committed to developing learners who are:

Respectful
Responsible
Ready to Learn, Lead and Succeed

North Central Junior High opened its school doors in the fall of 2006. The uniquely designed school known as “high performance design” features daylighting, glazed windows, an energy efficient shell, mechanical and ventilation system, and lighting and electrical systems. The building also features environmentally responsible building materials, a water conservation system, and geothermal heating and cooling, The site was developed to preserve native habitat. North Central Junior High serves as the junior high attendance center for Garner, Grant, Kirkwood, Van Allen, and Penn Elementary Schools.

We pride ourselves on challenging each student to reach their full potential. Students attending North Central consistently achieve at levels that exceed state and national averages. We build on student’s current abilities and help them develop the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to be successful in school and in life. One of our building goals is to have 100% of our students participating in a school-based activity that is outside the school day. There are opportunities for students who enjoy athletics, music, and academic clubs.

North Central’s staff is committed to the Lightning Code of being respectful, responsible and ready and we help students understand the importance of these attributes in their everyday life.

North Central is supported by dedicated parents, businesses, and patrons to provide the necessary resources that allow our students to excel. We encourage parents to join our Parent/Student/Teacher Organization (PSTO) which meets monthly. This allows both our community and faculty to come together to provide the best experiences for our children. Our goal is something for everyone. Please come visit us at North Central!
